Oyster Queen

Former
Amanda Pritchard from HOLYHEAD has crowned MISS OYSTER FAYRE in the year 2000. Her ambition is to see herself on the cover of a glossy magazine, and she was certainly getting noticed during her year as Ambassador for Anglesey Oyster and Shellfish Festival. This is not the first competition that Amanda has won though! She won a bonny baby competition at 10 months old and was registered with a child modelling agency in London called Child Play – at the age of 4. She has won many trophies for ballet, tap and modern dance, and she also secured a place at the Merseyside College of Dance and Drama, but due to an injured ankle, this was not to be. However, Amanda joined the Tanya Model Agency in North Wales where she learned how to walk gracefully down the catwalk, apply make-up and also how to present herself well at interviews and castings. She has since modelled wedding dresses for Anglesey photographers and has even given acting ago – thanks to the Sep One Casing Agency in North Wales who have found her “extra work” on S4C television productions. She has played various parts, on TV, including a barmaid, a moody teenager, and also in a disco scene. Amanda was honoured and delighted to be chosen as Miss Oyster Fayre 2000 and said “It was fantastic – I was treated really well and loved every minute – and am looking forward to the coming year. The staff at the Trearddur Bay Hotel were fantastic, and Trade Moch, a local band, was really entertaining – everybody loved them and they really made the atmosphere. But my ultimate ambition is to see myself pictured on the cover of a magazine”.
Congratulations and well done Amanda!
